    Default Bathroom scenario...

Ok... so, I was just in the shower, and I was thinking... I usually have a handgun within close distance of me at all times. However, when I was in the shower, I realized that 1.) My room mate wasn't home, and 2.) I never have a weapon within reach in the bathroom. I never really put much thought into it before because of the steam and all, it just didn't seem feasible. But just a few minutes ago, I started thinking... what would happen if someone broke in when I was in the shower... with no weapon within reach.

So I guess my question is, what do some of you other guys/girls do when in the bathroom? Drawer? Closet?

One of the things I was worried about was the moisture, obviously.. But I was trying to think of some options.

For your aquious solution I would definately use a spear gun! When I get home my CC holster is on my belt so I throw the clothes on the counter if their not dirty and cover them with my shirt. You could never tell I play with my gun in the shower Thats just what I do, that situation has crossed my mind several times..... Like I live in compton or something.

It probably gets more moisture on it from sweat when you wear it. Mine is in the holster, on the belt, hanging from the towel rack, on the door.

What good is an unarmed dog?

Get a dog with a pack to hold a gun on one side, extra mags in the other.

Better yet, get TWO dogs with packs!

Do I have to do ALL the thinking around here?

Whenever I am home I have a weapon on me so when in the shower I have whichever firearm I'm carrying at the time, actually on the countertop outside the shower.

I second getting a dog, that's my alarm system.

I used to have a 'potty gun' in the bathroom at all times, a pistol gripped 12g. Nowadays guns are hidden out of sight in common areas of my home. I just keep my trusty sidearm under my towel while I shower now... doesn't get any moisture on it and allows a quick hand dry if I do need to use my firearm.
Just because 'perfect' is impossible does not mean we should settle for 'broken'.

if your rifle isn't in reach then reach for your "gun", hopefully whoever broke in will be too shocked or disturbed at that sight that they'll turn and drop their guard, then in a swift motion try to wet the towel and towel slap/whip them as you sprint to where your firearm is.

not the best situation but it would definitely would be one hell of a story.

Not taking into account the presence of children or guests being over, ziplock bag might do the trick if you plan on keeping one in there.
