Default milsurp newbie Q on Enfield No. 5 fit/firing

Recently bought a beautiful Enfield No. 5, all matching, nice bore, cycles nicely, good dealer who packed it well. I love it, and have been going through checking-out and shining up phase, going to range in a week or so.

Anyway, she seems to be a well-kept, not abused, but I seem to notice more play between the hand guards and barrel then I'm used to in my Mauser or more modern rifles. She's got some play in there...is that to be expected from a 1945 used firearm? Everything seems in place and screws tight....

I've read firm bedding etc helps accuracy, but I'm not competing, just want to hit a pie plate at 100 or two feet. It's a .303 British, so I'm only going to run 10 rounds before I wimp out in all probability. But it probably won't blow up cause it's a hair wobbly, right?

Some play in the furniture fit is normal. Shoot it; it won't blow up because of that.

    Sounds like a plan, thanks!
