Default My Kimber was called into action tonight

While on my way home the the Patriot residence, I came upon a deer that had been hit. Her hind quarters were torn up pretty bad, but she was still alive.
After talking to York dispatch, they transfered me to PSP, was given the OK to dispatch the deer.

The laser grips are on at 5 ft.

Did they tell you you could keep the meat ??? And I thought I had read previous threads ( DC Dalton had one back in the spring), where I thought it was ultimately up to the Game Commission to authorize dispatching a struck deer ? Just looking for clarification so I know what to do when we get over there.

Seriously, good on you for putting it out of it's misery.

Did you get to keep the meat? I'm guessing no.

Did the police show up eventually?

There wasn't much good meat left. and is was in a unsafe area to loading a deer in the trunk.

Per pg. 16 of the PA Hunting and Trapping Digest, 3rd paragraph on the page "Roadkilled Deer/Possessing Wildlife", you may not "put it out of its misery." (refers to any injured wildlife). Call the local PA Game Commission office in the situation.

It would be a good idea to put that phone number into your cell phone "just in case", kinda like having the local PD number in there "just in case" for a non-911 situation.

Have you tried calling PGC at 2300 hrs?

York Co. dispatch passed it off to PSP, when I told them I could dispatch it.

PSP gave the OK, that's good enough for me.
