Default Even in victory, there is a taste of defeat

I was awarded my first Patent yesterday, US Patent number 7,593,323 for Apparatus and Methods for managing nodes on a fault tolerant network...

But... they misspelled my name by double-clutching the 'd', resulting in "Hiddle..."

    ARGGHHHHH!!!

But, I'm still happy... hopefully the other three applications I have in the works will pan out, too

    Congrats!!

Whatever it is, it sounds waaaaay over my head!

Hopefully, you name will become a houshod name and you will have your due.

I am still working on mine. Have you ever heard of Invention Home? I submitted a request for a form and they have called.

Just google "Invention Home Scam" and do some reading. I might go another way if I were you. The problem with these places is that you end up paying all the money, and buried in the paperwork is an assignment that essentially transfers the patent to them or gives them rights to a substantial proportion of royalties. The inventor almost never comes out ahead, and these places often end up being more expensive than just hiring a reputable patent attorney or agent.

We have in-house counsel and also use some outside law firms to handle our patent applications. I'll PM you and give you some more info that might help...
