This CC stuff is a pain in the butt sometimes

I have really come to love the freedom of OC. I spent some time in FL and GA this past week, and had to CC the whole time. GA is technically an open carry state, but I am a damn yankee in the eyes of many of its inhabitants, and OC is still pretty new there. So I concealed. In FL there is no choice. Hot, sticky weather, combined with extra clothes to conceal was not fun. Add into that, if your sidearm shows, you may end up having an unpleasant conversation with the nice policeman. So not only did I have to conceal, I had to make sure I didn't print, or accidentally expose my gun when I was ritching around trying to get comfortable in all the humidity.

The one bright spot was a few hours at the range. It was a privately owned place, and the owner gladly let me OC while I was there. I met some very friendly people, and everyone there was well schooled in gun safety. The one gentleman there insisted that I shoot his MSAR in .223 Remington. What a sweet rifle that was! I wasn't too keen on all the plywood boxing around each shooting station, since I am used to the free and open air of my own gun clubs, but hey, we can't have everything just like home when on the road, right?

Ugh, I have a nasty burn on my arm from one of my casings that bounced off of one of those plywood boxes.

CC may be a pain in the butt, but it promotes good posture! I never "bend at the knees" more than when I'm packing concealed.

A tidbit about Florida law is that you do not have to worry about printing. The law reads, paraphrased, that the gun cannot be visible. Their courts have interpreted "gun must be visible" to mean just that: you have to be able to see the gun itself. Even a holster peeking under a shirt isn't enough, so long as no part of the gun is visible.

I have to carry really for real concealed fairly often lately, as opposed to the "casual" concealed or OC'ing I usually do. My Springfield XD9sc in a Kholster IWB. It's a comfortable holster and all, but in my case it's imperative that the gun not show, or print. Which is a pain, because that means I have to worry about the darn thing
