Confronting Trespassers
I have an issue that the police seem to not want to help with. My girlfriend has constnat foot traffic though her property to a home that is a porbable drug house.
She confronted one of the jerkoffs walking through her back yard and he told told her that he has been doing it for 9 years and he isn't going to stop.
She called the local PD. They told her there was not much they can do.
Is it legal to make a citizens arrest with a weapon while someone is trespassing on private property?Last edited by Bigdaddyjo; June 19th, 2009 at 11:39 PM.

Re: Confronting Trespassers
Get a moultree game camera and video the people trespassing. Put signs up not to trespass. Call the police and insist they make an arrest of file a complaint for trespassing.
Let the video camera do the work. They are motion activated and you can put them just about anywhere . I am using one to help with some of the citys trash men who destroy trash cans which cost the tax payers 30 to 40 dollars and up.

Re: Confronting Trespassers
and get a lawyer to press charges , sometimes police dont always accept your pressing charges , so get your lawyer to contact the police and they will defintely require the DA to press the charges for trespassing numerous times on private property. if the cops dont do anything i suggest you contact the State Police and explain the situation to them . if the cops dont do anything its wrong they should file the tresspassing charges period! if you have no tresspassing signs up they have to arrest the tresspassers so make sure you put up no tresspassing signs.

Re: Confronting Trespassers
You could go cheap and just put up some of that roll out snow fencing.
If you want a longer term solution, a hedge. Perhaps something with thorns?
You could ask your local media outlet what they think of the local pd not responding to the report of a local drug den.
I found both triggers to be terrible to me so the triggers are on a scale to me.. The Glock was a crisper suck and the XD was a more mushy suck. They are in the same family, SR9 (heavy suck), Glock (crisp heavy suck), XD( lighter mushy suck), M&P(heavy mushy suck).

Re: Confronting Trespassers
The local PD said the drug den is under investigation which I am not sure I believe. This has been going on for a very long time. We thought about about the fence but it would be very expensive even going the "cheap" way.
I do like the Shoot Shovel Shut Up idea but.........
I may have to go with the camerea idea. Any other ideas would be appreciated.
Thanks for every ones input so far.

Bear traps would probably not be a good idea. Improvised claymore's would also not be a good idea. A large hungry dog might work. Plywood sheets with ten penny nails every two inches laid out head side down and covered with leaves might raise some questions about your intent, unless you were building a shed or something.....

Set up a lawn sprinkler with a timer for the "busy hours"?
Video cameras are a good idea.
Got a dog? Start piling dog shit in strategic locations.
I'd be getting creative with things that cover them with smelly stuff like fox urine.
Everything else I've got involves the police escorting you away in cuffs.I called to check my ZIP CODE!....DY-NO-MITE!!!

Re: Confronting Trespassers
I just noticed you were in Centre county. If you want the police to help, just tell them that the guy tried to take pictures of a court facilty not having any signage, and said he was going to teach them a lesson. They will bury him under the jail.......
