Government Cell Phone and Internet Program
This is just lovely isn't it. We pay taxes out the ass, and thanks Liberals, now we provide cell phones and free internet. I guess food and housing just isn't enough. Next we will have a subsidized NetFlix program too.

Re: Government Cell Phone and Internet Program
And these are the critical programs that can't be cut to balance our budget...Instead, we should be providing it to them.
I mean, they are entitled to it, aren't they? This is America, where having the latest and greatest is your right...
If we buy them cable or netflix, I quit...And don't think you're off the hook, voters, you're the ones who made this bed. Now you're the ones who are going to have to move over so a gay couple can sleep in it. Tomorrow you're all going to wake up in a brave new world, a world where the Constitution gets trampled by an army of terrorist clones, created in a stem-cell research lab run by homosexual doctors who sterilize their instruments over burning American flags. -- Stephen Colbert

Re: Government Cell Phone and Internet Program
And why not?
Shortly after I got married, we bought a house in a "nice" neighborhood. More than we could really afford, but that's where we wanted to live, and raise our kids. For a number of years I worked 2 fulltime jobs, and for many more years worked a fulltime job and a part time one, so that we could afford to live there.
20 years later, the wonderful state of Maryland decided that the inner city folk would be better served by living in nicer neighborhoods, so they started buying houses near me, and selling them to the new folk at a substantial loss to "better their standard of living".
I bust my hump for 20 years to be there, and they freaking GIVE the houses down the street to the "underpriveledged welfare recipients". You should have seen how quickly the neighborhood went downhill.

The first vehicles normally on the scene of a crime are ambulances and police cruisers. If you are armed you have a chance to decide who gets transported in which vehicle, if you are not armed then that decision is made for you.
Be prepared, because someone else already is and no one knows their intent except them.

Republicans are greedy and self-serving and don't care about who it hurts, which is why you should always vote democrat because they promise to give us more stuff and make those greedy self serving people pay through the nose.
And that right there, sums up the left-wing agenda. You're a republican if you see the hypocricy, and if you don't you probably are getting free stuff.

Re: Government Cell Phone and Internet Program
+1 Exactly
As far as the digital conversion boxes, I don't see that as quite the same. In my opinion, that was basically 'greasing the wheels' of a transaction that they are going to see a considerable return on. They are selling the analog channels to the highest bidders, and in order to make it seamless they purchased converter boxes for those still on antennas.
I think it's more along the lines of a business transaction - you pay a few bucks up front that is much less than your future expected return to ensure there aren't problems. Now if they gave out digital, high definition televisions and Dish network subscriptions, I would be a little pissed to see my tax dollars being pissed away...And don't think you're off the hook, voters, you're the ones who made this bed. Re: Government Cell Phone and Internet Program
I say get it while you can, men. We are in a hole so deep there is no chance of recovery. The economy will completely crash within a few years. I am starting to think welfare abusers had it right all along. Why should tehy be they only ones who get free shit just before the ship sinks? I say everyone stops working and signs up for the Obama fire sale. Now that I have the phone, where is the internet service link? And don't tell me to look it up, just post it so I can say I didn't have to work to find it....

Re: Government Cell Phone and Internet Program
I'm not sure, but the last time I checked the contitution it didn't mention anything about cell phones and wireless internet being a right.
Why do they need internet so damn bad? If they get this government supplied internet I think all sites should be blocked except for hotjobs.com. Of course they could just go to the library. Is internet still free there?
