Default Picked up Beretta Tomcat 32 - Have a Question

    Hey all-
I just picked up a Beretta INOX Tomcat 32ACP. I have a quick question though-
I took the pistol home, then cleaned and oiled it. I loaded two snap caps in it, and when I cycle the slide by hand, it does not eject the snap cap. So in other words, I tried to mimic what action of the gun firing and the "fired" snap cap does not eject out of the barrell. I am by no means an expert, but all the other pistols I have, do this. So do I have a potential problem with this gun, or when shooting a live round, will it work?

    Thanks-
    Mark

That have no extractors. They are a blowback gun and use pressure and recoil from the discharge to push the casing and slide back.

    Perfectly normal for that gun.

Perfectly normal, your gun were meant to fire real ammo not snap caps.

I have the same gun, never a problem.

A few things to remember. Read the manual: dry firing will damage the firing pin so do it ONLY with snap caps. Also, manual recommends to using 71gr, not higher gr, ammo (Fiocchi are usually 73gr). Keep your purchase receipt, Beretta won't service the gun outside of warranty or in warranty without a sale receipt. The pop-up barrel release can be tight, so work it even without/before firing the gun will help loosen it up. If you didn't buy an Inox version, pray after 200 rounds that the frame won't crack...at least not when SHTF.
