Default New LTCF holder as of today :-)

    Hi Guys

Wanted to share a great experience with Towamencin Township and the courthouse in Norristown.

Yesterday I went over to the Towamencin Township police dept with the necessary paperwork at 8:00 AM by about 11:00 AM I got a call on my cell to let me know that the paperwork was ready for pickup. ( that was easy ! )

So when I got there I asked the man behind the counter ( an ex police officer ) what was the general mindset from the police dept about citizens having the right to carry. He said that he couldn't speak for other police, but he felt that as long as everything was legal he had no reservations.

He did say that when he was an officer he appreciated that during a traffic stop people told officer straight out that they had a LTCF and a weapon. That way the officer wouldn't be nervous if he happened to see it. As an officer you never know what you are going to run into during a traffic stop.
( I read conflicting stories here about that and I don't mean to start that debate. )

I thanked him for the advice and left. My impression? Very nice guy.

Norristown was another very painless process. Norristown took all of 20 mins. The important thing they told me was not to carry outside of the state unless the weapon was in a locked box in the trunk.

All in all I was happy that law enforcement has no problem with responsible citizens having the right to carry.

Dad and I had a nice day at the range. :-)

Next step? Spend time at the range, and find some good training programs.

    Dave

Not true in states that recognize our license:

Understood, but he said that only 1 bordered Pa.

    Specifically NJ does not.
