My new M1s
I usually don't post in here, but I'm particularly excited about these two that I went to pick up this weekend at Camp Perry with my uncle (thanks to him for helping!)

Re: My new M1s
Not bad. How much did that carbine cost you? I want to get one just like the one my grandma used to have. (I'm not kidding, grandma had an M1 carbine until a few years ago lol)

Gorgeous!
I'm waiting for my M1 in the mail... I have one of each like you now, but I want a spare/back up for the big daddy."The rifle is the weapon of democracy. If guns are outlawed, only the government will have guns. Only the police, the secret police, the military. The hired servants of our rulers. Only the government-and a few outlaws. I intend to be among the outlaws." (Edward Abbey, "The Right to Arms," Abbey's Road [New York, 1979])
I have my rifle. Do you?

Re: My new M1s
The carbine was $575 (Service Grade).
I also have an SA on order Hopefully it's as cherry as these are, but I am not expecting it being a grade lower than these are.

Re: My new M1s
What manufacturer were there at Cabela's? IBM made 346,000 roughly of the 6.25 million produced. I thought it was cool to have one made by IBM.

Inland mostly. But there were a couple other ones. They actually have quite a few of them listed on the site but they are from Cabela's stores all over the country.

I heard the company Auto-Ordinance was making new M1 Carbines. They are called something different, I believe the AOM160. They have black synthetic stocks, and the price was around 800.

Re: My new M1s
When you go to camp perry I know they have a lot of requirements for first time buyers. Can you tell me what they are and are the workers there friendly and helpful or not? I was thinking about making a trip. If I buy them in Ohio can I legally transport them in my car to PA?
