    Default Another ppd issue.

Hey guys its been awhile and i have a question. a freind of mine was arested the other day and charged with carrying a gun without a permit. So here is the story...... he is act 235 certified and was on his way to work he goes to the coner of his block and a cop pulls him over. So i walk to the coner to see what happened. as the cops ask him for his info they must see a N.R.A book on the passenger seat so they ask if he has any guns in the car or on him and he says yes. So they pull him out the car and ask why he has a gun. he then says he is act 235 certified and he is on his way to work. So the ask where he works and the call his job and the job verififies he should be on his way to work. But the female cop ask what time is he to be to work and he says i start at 3:30. it was 2:20 at this time. So the cop then says you only have a hour to go to work with the 235. so my friend say no thats not true. the state says you have "reasonable time". So the cop says dont tell me i know the law. my friend then says call the state police and the cop says that is to much work so they call down town. Well my friends brother is a state trooper in harrisburg. They then get out there car and tell my friend your job is only a half hour away so why are you going to work so early. He replys cause i can. The male cop then says come on lets go to the female cop. but she says no im taking him in. So the take his gun off him and take him. he calls me today saying he just got out of jail and they kept his gun but gave him his 235 back and all 4 of his permits "by the way all of them are good in pa." But he was charged with carrying a gun with out a permit. And his bail was 15,000. now the reason he was pulled over was because the said he ran a stop sign. But they pulled him over before he even got to the sign. so he called the unit that is in charge of giving out the act 235 and they tell him that there is no time fram on when you have to go to work, cause some people live in philly but work in other parts of the state that takes more than an hour to get to. So they tell him that PPD is wrong but as long as they gave his 235 back it's nothing they can do. So he has a court date next week what can he do?

This may get more traction after he has resolved the pending legal issue.

Has anyone suggested getting an attorney?

Get a lawyer. Most Philly LEO's are ignorant or could careless about gun laws. With the recent rash of LEO's shooting in the city, they will be even more ignorant.

So what if you are going in to work early? Go in, hang out for a while.....BS about LOST or 24 ..............

Get lawyer, this one seems like a relative easy case to win.

I normally leave an hour to 1.5 hours early for work. I get better parking spaces, have time to make coffee and get settled, check email and think about what Im going to do. Then when my partner and I meet, we stand around and talk small talk for 10 or 15 min and chill... and it's about time for bosses to show. Then its off to do the job at hand.

Most times I am there 45 min prior to shift start. At times I stay an hour after..... posting here...lol... but it's my time before and after the clock hits the card... so I can do as I please.

    Get a lawyer.
