    Default S&W MP9 Special Ops ...

I was at the "fun shop" last week and they had a S&W MP9 Special Ops pistol in the case with the other M&Ps. I've never seen one before and it's not listed (at least I can't find it) on Smith's website. To me, it looks just like a M&P Pro but has a threaded barrel and has "special ops" on the slide. Does anyone know anything about this pistol?

I was able to find it at Bud's online, but they're out of stock:

Looks OK, not that much different than a standard M&P. If I were in the market for one today (I already own an M&P9), I'd rather get the standard and buy a drop-in threaded barrel for it, as I'm not a big fan of the white lettering on the slide.

I agree ... that if the only difference is the barrel ... buy the standard and order the threaded barrel. I would hate to have that letter on the slide. I just wasn't sure if the barrel was the only difference.
