I do not think these people really are stupid. I think they know exactly what they are doing. They are deliberately misstating what they are talking about, deliberately lying, deliberately couching their rhetoric in terms intended to be as frightening and alarming as possible to folks who really don't know.

This was a keystone of Goebbel's propaganda techniques. Use a tiny bit of truth, then tell as big a lie as loudly and often as possible. Those two ladies are liars, they are tyrants, they are enemies of our Constitution and a free America. But they are not stupid.
