Full size .45
Okay I can't find anything that really fits my question. My search-fu may just be weak, but bear with me please.
I currently have an HK USP .45 Compact, a Charter Arms .38 Dectective Special, and a P3AT. I am looking to pick up a full sized .45 that will hold 12+1 or more without a mag extension. Anyone have any suggestions and experience with the suggested firearms?

Re: Full size .45
Of those requirements, the only full-sized 45 I have experience with is the Glock 21. 13+1 capacity, reliable, accurate and fun to shoot. If you were to modify the capacity prerequisite, the CZ-97b is an excellent choice with 10+1 capacity. I've always wanted one and hope to own someday. Good luck with your decision.

Try a full size USP in .45 if you like your compact.

Re: Full size .45
I would check out the M&P 45 it is only 10+1 but it is worth a look. I have seen fullsize frames with a compact slide which was also very nice. They also have a thumb safety now also which is a bonus.
They are nice shooting pistols and are worth a look.

Re: Full size .45
I own and carry an XD45 Tactical (5" full size).
I LOVE it. Easy to shoot and, oddly enough, I think the recoil is percieved less than what I get from my alloy framed CZ-75D PCR 9mm.
It's not as 'brick-ish' as a Glock 21, but it's still a full-size grip.

Re: Full size .45
The XD may not be as "brick-ish" as the Glock, but it IS much more "SUCK-ish".
AND, if you want something really unbalanced and top-heavy, the XD is perfect.

Re: Full size .45
Ignore the fanboys and wrap your mitts around whatever you can find that fits your criteria. It might be suckish to some people, but if you don't at least hold one you will never know how much you like it.

Re: Full size .45
Well you might think so. I've got an XD-45 with the 4" barrel, and it handles and shoots very well. Capacity is 13+1.
I looked at the M&P, and while I really like my M&P 9c, the 45 was not comfortable in my hand. Plus, the little flipper safety thing looked like it would break off if you set the gun down wrong.
As Wasz wrote, check out several different ones, and buy what feels best for you.
