I responded "ma'am, you couldn't be more mistaken, open carry is legal in Pennsylvania provided you are not a prohibited person." I reached in my back pocket and handed her a PaPatriot flyer. She looked at the cover, angrily stuffed it in her purse and then as she pointed at my son said, "well what about him?"
Two possible answers to this one:

"He's too young to carry, so I have to carry for him."

"He's exactly the reason I carry. I'm his first line of defense from child molesters, perverts, and strange women."

I woulda told her that he cant carry as the gun is a bit too heavy for his pants and he is constantly pulling them up, thats why he brought me to carry for him.

    Heh-heh, thanks HC.

In the short time I've been here I've found this forum to be an awesome resource. I just figured I'd step in and give some of you 'old-timers' a little holiday break!

And thanks to you and gnbrotz (sp?) for the rep comments!

    Good job to the OP.

If my 6 year old and I are going out somehwere he always asks me: Daddy, do you have you gun with you? I tell him yep, then he asks if he can take his. Its kinda funny and cute watching him trying to stuff a nerf gun in his pocket

I would've told her, my occupation is none of her business.

A lot of my buddies don't look like cops either.. some of us try to not look it.
See, he should be OCing that nerf gun... more comfortable

The funny thing is my grandfather bought my mom a toy tommy gun when she was a kid, but grandma returned it to the toy store. So grandpa tried to get a girl in the 1950's to touch icky boy and man toys, but that darn grandma and her backwards ways!

Sheeesh.. I almost wouldn't touch some of the icky man things she touches

GL23, good job on keeping your cool and doing a little educational work at the same time.

This is very close to my first thought as I read the OP. I know I would have said something like, "Who, him? He's too little to carry his own gun yet." And I usually don't have trouble coming up with stuff like this at the moment it is needed. That's what gets me into trouble most of the time!
