Vltor vs Magpul
Does anyone have experience with both of these stocks:
Vltor Enhanced Modstock
Magpul CTR
What are your impressions and view on them? I like the look of the CTR better plus it's a little cheaper but the emod does seem very nice too.

Re: Vltor vs Magpul
I've never used the Magpul but I love my Vltor E-mod. Easy to install, easy to adjust and with the storage in place no need to install a saddle to get a proper cheekweld.

Re: Vltor vs Magpul
Very solid. There is no rattle at all in my unit and when I set the position it is there, period, not moving at all. I was very pleasantly surprised with everything to do with this unit, much better than the OEM unit and I will be buying another to put on my CAR. Now when I put a new stock on the A2 unit I'm probably going with Magpul but I will only be using Vltor on my CAR/M4geries.

Re: Vltor vs Magpul
I have a CTR on mine, so if you make it to the January shoot, you're welcome to run mine. I have an upper, so no worries there

Re: Vltor vs Magpul
Their weights are different...so I'd recommend checking out a carbine equipped with either before you decide.
The Vltors have some teeth on the side of them that lockup with add-on compartments...they tend to grab facial hair, so I've ruled them out for now.
I have a MOE (CTR, w/o the wiggle lock thing), but it's on a carbine I'm still building and haven't shot yet. After all the pics I've seen of guys with CTR's and the lever dis-engaged...and the LMT I handled with a MOE on it that didn't wiggle at all....I saved a few bucks and got the MOE.
Last point, is not all receiver extensions are built the same. The LMT I checked the MOE out on had a tighter lockup than my Colt RE has. You kinda don't know until you have it on YOUR RE.
