Default History Channel Tests Bulletproof Doors In Greensburg

    http://www.thepittsburghchannel.com/...45/detail.html

GREENSBURG, Pa. -- A production crew from The History Channel was in Greensburg on Thursday, testing bulletproof doors for an upcoming television show.

Producer John Griffin told WTAE Channel 4 Action News reporter Jennifer Miele that the footage shot at Overly Door Company will be used in a one-hour episode of the "Modern Marvels" series.

The business, located on West Otterman Street, makes doors designed to protect the people on the other side of them from gunfire and other attacks. Clients include NASA, nuclear power plants and the White House.

One of the tests Thursday saw producers trying to blow a door out of its frame. They also visited a shooting range in nearby Youngwood to do some ballistics testing.

Refresh this page later for updates, and watch Miele's report tonight on WTAE Channel 4 Action News at 5 p.m.
Are they bulletproof of bullet-resistant? Whats the politically correct term?

I'd say bullet-resistant, because the "glass" is damaged.

I looked up Modern Marvels and the episode tonight at 7pm is...

Bulletproof: How do you stop a speeding bullet? From body armor to armored cars and trucks, we review the history of the race between the bullet and a successful way to stop it. It's not exactly easy to design material that can catch gunfire traveling up to 3,000 feet per second. We'll look at little-known advances like bulletproof layering hidden in walls, futuristic smart materials that "remember" how to stop a bullet, and a system that deploys a shield within milliseconds when it detects an oncoming round.

Think I may tune in for the heck of it.
