For sale Armalite Semi-auto AR-180 in 556 made by Sterling Armaments in the United Kingdom. Upgrades by Stormwerkz include a picatiny rail and an improved folding mechanism that allows for use of standard AR15 stocks. Original matching stock and hardware included, plus extra bolt, springs, and spare parts to keep her running. Has 1 proper 20rd magazine marked by Armalite. Unlike the AR-15, the cocking handle reciprocates during firing, allowing you to force the breech closed or open if necessary. While never adopted as a service rifle, both the UK & USA purchased it for consideration in military trials in the 60s. The gas system is the ancestor for the majority of short-stroke piston gas systems found in modern military rifles including: the German HK G36 & HK 416, FN F2000, FN-SCAR, Austrian Steyr AUG, CZ 805 BREN, Chinese QBZ-95, Daewoo K1, the Jap HOWA Type 89, the Thai T-91, and British SA80 $2200
