Default New Hi-Point 3095 in .30 Super Carry

Hi-Point 3095 Carbine in .30 Super Carry. Apparently it will also fire 7.65mm French Long. IMO, the cartridge (.30SC) is pointless, and with a capacity of 10 rounds from the carbine, it defeats its purpose of being able to pack more rounds than 9mm with similar results. However, some may find it interesting, so it's here for your enjoyment.

Someone was probably dicking around and just randomly discovered that this caliber would work without any costly design changes.

I've never even heard of that chambering before.
There are TONS of calibers I have no familiarity with.

I'll presume it is way more money than 9mm ammo and since Hi Point is still sticking to 10 rd mags, it doesn't interest me in the least.

30SC has some real potential in subcompacts, getting a couple more rounds in the magazine without losing too much energy.

I still think 9mm is the best choice for most of my situations though.

Them making a carbine chambered for it baffles me.

It'll be a collectable some day. I can't see them making very many of them.

It's the dude from the Biofire smart gun thread! I guess it makes sense if one already had a pistol in 30sc to share ammo with more than one gun.

Well, Ian already did an episode on Forgotten Weapons. So he is already ahead of the curve for when it becomes a forgotten weapon

So is everyone bashing this because of the manufacturer or the caliber? Honestly, 30SC is a great caliber and it out performs 9mm and .380. In a PCC, this should be amazing. I bet if smith and Wesson brought one of these out, people couldn*t wait to pay more than its worth just to get their hands on it.

Outperforms 9mm? Fake news. Outperforms .380? Yes, somewhat. It does have a potential capacity bump over either, but that's about it.

S&W is selling the Shield in 30SC. Will be interesting to see if it catches on.

At about 1:40 they show some stats. (on a marketing display)
Doesn't look like anything spectacular to me. I'm not a ballistics expert though, so maybe it's more impressive than it looks.

I'm not "bashing" Hi Point - I just have no use for a semi-auto gun that is intentionally restricted to 10 rounds.
And if the ammo costs even a little more than 9mm, it's of no use whatsoever as a plinker, so it's a neutered defensive gun that's too expensive to shoot paper targets with. People buy Hi Points because they can't afford a real gun (I know - I've been there), so they certainly can't afford to feed it.
Who are they going to sell this one to?
