Default decided (for now) ar15 in pistol cal.

so recently i did a poll on my pre obama purchase and the ar-15 blew out the competition, since i already have a .223 colt 6520 i'm thinking pistol caliber for my first (and probably last) build. here's where i'm at right now:
building is pretty much my only option as i don't have $1,000+ to put out so the lower will be the first thing i buy. caliber, i love the .45 acp round but it seems oly arms is my only option and magazines don't seem to be readily available. next, i do have a G27 and do plan to buy a 9mm conversion barrel so these 2 rounds are the top 2 contenders, oly arms makes lowers which use glock mags and from what i hear the scherer glock .40 mags are no good so a 9mm lower with glock 18 mags would best fit my needs unless anyone knows where to get a .45acp lower that uses glock mags (which would be perfect) and i would use the magpul kriss mags or high capacity .40 glock mags that work?
and besides olympic and rock river are there any other companys making pistol caliber ar 15 uppers? thanks guys!
Go head, skin it. Skin that smoke wagon and see what happens.

I love the .45ACP round also so that is what I would go with.
My .45ACP AR deal didn't work out so I ended up getting a .45ACP UZI fullsize pistol from Vector... and I love it. It has the 10" barrel and no buttstock but I think it looks more like an UZI is supposed to than the UZI carbines with that 16" barrel sticking out the front.
There are some nice lowers out there for the .45ACP AR that take 30rd. Grease Gun mags, so that might be an option? Origional Grease Gun mags aren't too expensive at around $35 a piece. One place has newly manufactured Grease Gun mags for around $20 and even cheaper if you buy more than 10 mags.

Here is a link to some .45 AR porn.
I really like the looks of the CNCGuns AR45 lower...

are you talking about a specific 9mm lower, or a lower with a mag block? I'd rather the latter, in case you want to re-make it into something else...

Smokewagon - while I understand the desire to use mags for multiple purposes that really limits your options.

I would go 9mm personally (and have) for the AR platform. It has the most versatility in terms of different mag blocks, different magazines... etc. If you are bound set on 45acp I would go with the Uzi with a Grease gun magwell adapter (45acp uzi mags are stupid expensive - $140ish per)

There are a bunch of other things to factor in your decision. Are you interested in SBRing the gun, are you restricted to the AR platform, etc...
