Re: Springfield Armory severs ties with DICKS
Here is the press release:
Springfield Armory Severs Ties with Dick’s Sporting Goods
GENESEO, IL, (05/03/18) – Springfield Armory is severing ties with Dick’s Sporting Goods and its subsidiary, Field & Stream, in response to their hiring a group for anti-Second Amendment lobbying.
This latest action follows Dick’s Sporting Goods’ decision to remove and destroy all modern sporting rifles (MSR) from their inventory. In addition, they have denied Second Amendment rights to Americans under the age of 21. We at Springfield Armory believe that all law abiding American citizens of adult age are guaranteed this sacred right under our Constitution.
It is clear where Dick’s Sporting Goods and its subsidiary, Field & Stream, stand on the Second Amendment, and we want to be clear about our message in response. Their position runs counter to what we stand for as a company. At Springfield Armory, we believe in the right and principles fought for and secured by American patriots and our founding forefathers, without question. We will not accept Dick’s Sporting Goods’ continued attempts to deny Second Amendment freedoms to our fellow Americans.

Re: Springfield Armory severs ties with DICKS
So a firearm manufacturer that funded anti-gun politicians via their own lobby is severing ties with a sporting goods company that just hired anti-gun lobbyists. WTF?
*ETA: Maybe they should just merge and call it goodLast edited by ExFlyinguy; May 3rd, 2018 at 09:35 PM.

Re: Springfield Armory severs ties with DICKS
Yes they screwed up. But they realized that and apologized. Sure it is easy to keep shitting on them and push them further and further away. Or forgive and move on. Why might it be important to forgive them? People and companies screw up in many ways. When they screw up they can apologize and not screw up again and support the 2nd, or they can stay the course of the screw up. I personally want companies to apologize, not screw up again and rejoin the fight on our side. If the 2nd Amendment community refuses to accept companies who screw up and admit it back into the fight, they really have no motivation to admit and fix their screw up.
Think about Dicks.... they screwed up, and continued to screw up to the point where they are now actively fighting against the 2nd. For that they have earned a humongous “FUCK YOU” from the 2nd Amendment community.
Springfield screwed up, apologized and have been trying to do right by the 2nd since. I am glad because I would rather have a company that screwed up, realized and is now making up for it.
We can keep shitting on them, or we can watch, make sure they don’t fuck up again and move on with them helping us in the fight for the 2nd.
Me I would rather move on. Sometimes forgiveness is the best path forward. Jmo.
Their apology

And from what I’ve seen since then, their actions have backed up their apology.

Re: Springfield Armory severs ties with DICKS
Since they've severed ties with dicks, does that mean they're now trans?
Rules are written in the stone,
Break the rules and you get no bones,
all you get is ridicule, laughter,
and a trip to the house of pain.
