Default Anyone suggestions for a gunsmith in Philly that would assemble an upper for me?

    Hi,

So I have a Billet upper lower set. I have put together three lowers and feel confident about it. I know how to assemble an upper but haven't done it myself nor do I have the space or equipment to assemble an upper properly (girlfriend would not want me fastening a vice to my kitchen table). I know what pieces I would want to complete the list for my upper and the deals right now are great. Searching ordering and acquiring would be no trouble.

Is there anyone in the philly area who would assemble the upper for me? How much does that service usually cost?

    All suggestions and trolling welcome!

    Chris

King's also does a build class from time to time.

You could then do it yourself and learn a thing or two.

Check out EZ Accuracy on York Road in Warminster. It's a couple blocks down the street from The Bunker Gun Shop.

    Eric does excellent work.

I suggest Sean Reed in Chalfont. However, since he is quite simply one of the best smiths anywhere within 50 miles and extremely busy, you might not want to wait in line.

I wouldn't pay someone to put parts together. You can come to my place and we can do it together. I'm about 50 minutes West of Philadelphia. PM me if you need help.

What kind of upper are you looking to have completed.

My vise/table combo would not let me get the torque I needed, King Shooter's Supply got the barrel on, no charge.

I did buy the lower from them, but that was years earlier (don't think they remembered me), I would say if you are taking it to them, at least buy some of those upper parts from them to help them keep the store open.

Technically you don't need a vise. An upper block to hold the upper and a c-clamp would work fine. I've done quite a few like that. Pm me for my # if your interested. You can torque the barrel nut as hard as you want with zero damage to the upper.
