Default Blackhawk Serpa... is this a good price and a few ?'s

    http://www.sportsmansguide.com/net/cb/cb.aspx?a=381063

I recently got a Glock 17 and have heard a great many good things about these holsters. Is 43.17 + shipping a decent price?
Also, I have yet to see one in person and have been wondering how close they ride to your body. For years I carried a G23 in a leather pancake holster and liked it a lot - it rides really close and high. I'm a fairly big guy - 6'3" and go about 200 lbs. My problem is I have big mitts and even the G23 is a bit small in my hand.

    Any input on these holsters?

I have my rifle. Do you?

    I'm a big guy, too.
    6'2 330lbs or so.

The paddle is a bitch, but if you mess with it for a bit, I'm sure you can loosen it up. I use the belt holster and it's fairly tight...I guess anything can be close if you have a good belt. For some reason though, my last belt which was thinner then my new 1 seemed to hold it closer to my body versus my new belt.

I use one for my XD9sc, I use the paddle option, it is very secure, a regular PIA to remove but still easier than a belt, it rides just right for me, close enough as to feel a part of me but doesn't interfere with driving, getting in and out of car, covers nicely with a sweater or jacket, it is my cool weather carry holster. I paid $ 45. or so, well worth it. the retention aspect is excellent, can not remove weapon without depressing the release, when releasing as in a draw, very smooth, I practice a lot but smooth. "slow is smooth, smooth is quick" 2 thumbs up !!!

Yeah what he said. I carry my G17 in one and love it. I also use the paddle did some refinement to the dawgs on the back so i could get if off without pissing myself off. Other than that it's great. Same price too. -BB

I've got three Serpas now. It is my favorite way to carry a gun. The price will vary depending on the model, not because Blackhawk might charge more, but because different distributors will have different models. Say you want a specific model, but it is not carried by the distributor with the lowest price because it is not a fast mover. You are going to end up paying more for it. My Sig Sauer SP2022 Serpa cost me the most because I could not find it anywhere except Blackhawk. But it was still worth it to my way of thinking.

I love my Serpa...I wish they had a bigger selection. I bought mine off ebay as well. So check there! It's great because you can switch it up between belt/paddle.

    GREAT holster!

I'm skinny so it sticks out, I can't CC with it to save my life. But it's a secure holster, draws like butter, and is very well made.
