    Default Everyday carry flashlight suggestions

Looking for a new EDC flashlight, perfer to spend up to $50 or less. Also would like it to be around the size of a pen light. I have a shitty Bushnell double a light i got from Wallymart but wanna get a better one.

I run an olight S10rii for work (mechanic), and love it. Not pen light sized... But rechargeable, small, magnetic to use hands free while under cars.

I also use a thrunite ti3 Keychain light. Almost 200 lumens and not much bigger than the aaa battery it uses.

I'm probably going to buy a Streamlight protac 1aaa or microstream or stylus pro. Check those out.

Anything from O Light, Fenix, Four Sevens in this price range would work well. It just depends on what battery you want. I prefer rechargeable 18650 lights, which are equivalent to two RCR123A's.

I have the MicroStream and I like it. Here is my old EDC. Phone is now a MotoG, no case.

Streamlight Protac 2L. Perfect EDC light. 260 lumens. 3 modes, high, strobe, low. Momentary on which is a must in my opinion. You can pull the light out and get to strobe mode pretty much instantly with a quick double half tap of the tail button which I like. 260 lumens is plenty bright too for a EDC light.

+1000 for the Streamlight Microstream. The only EDC light you'll need; bright enough, and super-unobtrusive. Mine has almost all the black anodizing worn off; it is nearly all polished aluminum in appearance now.

I've had it for 10+ years.

LCP? Interesting, mine takes a size 4 pocket holster.

I use (and love) this one:

Ignore that review, mine sticks in my pocket perfectly.

OK, burn the heretic, I know. My recommendation if for this little flashlight crom Energizer that I buy at Target (but only when I'm sure that I don't have to use the restroom). http:// http://m.target.com/p/enr-led-tactical-black-fl-1aa/-/A-14779192?ref=tgt_adv_XS000000&AFID=google_pla_df&C PNG=PLA_Home%2BImprovement%2BShopping&adgroup=SC_H ome%2BImprovement&LID=700000001170770pgs&network=g &device=t&location=1025338&gclid=Cj0KEQjwyum6BR DQ-9jU4PSVxf8BEiQAu1AHqlmFObMgbpJzrM2kZpPWF8pDU04TPSw lZFp0G5yTFckaAoTg8P8HAQ&gclsrc=aw.ds

85 lumens, so it'll supposedly make bad guys swoon. Takes up almost no space in my pocket. Uses AA batteries, so I don't have to worry about waiting for it to recharge if I'm using it (this is the most important feature right here). It has a switch that doesn't activate the light until it is completely pressed in, so it doesn't drain the battery while in your pocket. AND the little pocket clip is configured so that the lens is up, not down like most flashlights. This allows it to be clipped onto the bill of a baseball cap and used as a headlamp for hands free use.

I just retired one that I've been EDCing for about 10 years. I keep one in my pants, I keep one clipped to the pocket of my PJs for things that go bump in the night, the wife and kids all have one in their purse or school bags. I can't tell you the number of hours of illumination that this little flashlight has provided while working on plumbing and other mechanical repairs.

And the silly thing only cost me $15.
