Pics that show scale? Like next to a full size or in a hand?

Re: Dan Wesson Bobtail
I couldn't find a picture with any kind of size reference in it, but DAMN! Dan makes some sharp looking pistols. I knew about his revolvers, but never knew he made those beautiful 1911's.

Re: Dan Wesson Bobtail
I'm picking up my CBOB tomorrow.
But let me tell you tho.
Its quality, and fit/finish are top notch. Infact, I can't find another 1911 put together so well as DW in this price range.
I bought it thinking that I'm gonna carry it, but I dought that I'll ever going to carry it.
So beautiful, i feel guilty putting any holster wear on it..

Re: Dan Wesson Bobtail
I must say I applaud your efforts in researching firearms.
About the bobtail ......... no appreciable advantage.
IMNSHO it is yet another example of what can be accomplished when marketing is wedded to P-I-I.

Re: Dan Wesson Bobtail
I like DW 1911's. Very nice right out of the box. The Pointman 7's shoot great for the price.
I always had problems with the MSH sticking to my shirts and printing. I'm not sure if the general public noticed, but I didnt care for it. The Bobtail reduces that a little. An Officers size frame works well, and the newer mags hold 7 so I guess times have changed. We are no longer stuck with 6 round officer mags.
Kimber and STI both make a 1911 with a Commander size slide on a Officers size frame....my personal favorite for carry.
Springer and Kimber both make a full size 5" gun with an alloy frame. Very nice package for carry.

Re: Dan Wesson Bobtail
I got the pleasure of shooting this same 1911 this past Sunday, and it was a real pleasure to shoot. It fit well in my hand and it has a nice trigger to it. There was not much of a difference in the feel of the grip compared to my Para 5" 1911. It really is a nice looking and well functioning pistol for the money.
I would definitely get one if I had the money.

Re: Dan Wesson Bobtail
I have a CBOB and it conceals very easily, shoots great, excellent trigger, all steel components, no MIM, night sights, all for under 1K. Not to mention DW customer service is excellent. The day I bought mine I posted my purchase on another 1911 forum and one of the managers of DW emailed me and thanked me for my purchase and told me to let them know if I wanted anything in the future to include something custom made. No failures of any kind so far.

Re: Dan Wesson Bobtail
I have the full sized pointman and love it. Great balance, trigger is light, crisp and smooth. I expect you'd get the same from the CBOB. Barrel (and over all length) on the CBOB is about .75 inches shorter and only slightly less heft in the hand than the pointman. Height and width are the same. Best of luck with it.
below is a picture of the pointman.
