People (craftsman or tradesman) have had the ability to make their own firearms for a LOT of years before 3D printers became popular. So people being able to make their own firearms is nothing new, technology simply just gave another option to produce a weapon.

For some reason, people believe that if something is not accountable to or controlled by the government, then it will lead to chaos and anarchy. At this point, maybe it should; but it doesn't.

It's a wonder we still allow some capitalism, but I do hear we are changing that, too. Not only our current socialist leanings/programs but the 'too big to fail' scheme are all anti-capitalist. It's not just the Dems either.

Control is mandatory at all costs, even if it is illusory.

What does current law says about home made firearms now. I'd be surprised if it is legal so they won't be needing new laws to ban them.

AFAIK manufacture for personal use is A-OK as long as you do the work. That's why there are 80% AR lower kits, I've even seen 80% 1911 frames. Then you have the AK flats that just need bent and welded/pinned.

Aren't lowers have serial numbers on them? What if you have a machine shop and just build yourself a firearm from cold steel.

Only licensed manufacturers, and individuals who build NFA devices, are required to put a serial # on a firearm receiver.

If you build a gun from a block of metal for personal use you do not have to put a serial number on it.
