Default Have you OC'd in ANOTHER state?

Something I thought would make an interesting discussion

For the OCers out there who are residents of PA. Have you OCed in another state, where it is legal to do so of course, and how did that go for you? How did you feel about it...any reactions, LEO encounters, etc.

Maybe someone can lend me a helping hand here. I'm planning on going up to my friends fathers cabin in Maine during the summer, for his family's yearly reunion.. the place is in the middle of nowhere in the mountains and right next to a huge lake.. so between the beer and food and water there will be plenty of entertainment.. but i want to bring my gun up there to do some plinking in the mountains with my buddies.. this will be taking place during the week of the 4th of july.. i'll have my PA LTCF some time in may, so thats not an issue. i did some basic research at the attorney generals website under the reciprocity page. and it says Maine is a Catagory 4 state, and we may apply for a permit there. does this mean i cant bring my gun into the state and shoot on private land, or does it mean i cant carry concealed or open in maine? any help would be much appreciated guys..

Maine does not recognize your PA LTCF.

Maine does allow OC, with some restrictions. See http://opencarry.org for info on Maine OC

Not yet, but I plan to do so in both IN (licensed OC) and KY (unlicensed OC) when I go the the NRA Convention in May. Stay tuned.

No. I CC'd while in NC this past summer but I was still an uneducated pussy

    Yes. In Arizona.

    How did I feel?

OC in AZ has always been legal for residents and non-residents. It was in Chino Valley on trips to Gunsite which is in northern AZ so it was "normal" to see "cowboys" wearing everything from Colt SAA's to 1911's.

There were some areas that you did not see much if any OC'ing such as the strip malls and semi-urban developments in and around Prescott.

Unlike the threads on this board where people initially expect "issues" their first time OC'ing, it was an extremely relaxed atmosphere. The thought of being hassled for OC'ing was non-existent.

Yes, I have OC while in NC and VA. But only when stopping to get gas and a small snack. No big adventures.
