I always tell women I go to the range with to not wear anything that can catch a casing.

The same thing happened to me but with a 3006. I didn't shoot anybody though. But it was all caught on film

While shooting a 10/22 once, a friend standing near me caught a casing right in his ear.

While that's strange, it's even stranger that he is deaf and that's why he had no hearing protection in.

Now the strangest part is seeing a deaf guy at the range with earplugs in.

Shooting at the dillsburg range once, the person to the left of me had their shell fly and it went down the collar of the shirt I was wearing and sat on the base of my neck burning. It hurt pretty good. I could see how this could happen as your focus transfers from range safety to stopping the pain. Perhaps this should be mentioned during firearms safety training.
