Castle doctrine?
Anybody know what the status of this is right now? I've been looking for a while now, and can't find anything reliable. Thanks

Re: Castle doctrine?
I have an update on this here.
They are trying to get the "Lost and Stolen" bill added to this as well, so it's very important to write your legislator. We want castle doctrine to get passed clean. We absolutely want to ensure that Lost and Stolen provision doesn't get passed along with it.

Re: Castle doctrine?
I plan to e-mail this as well as telephone my rep. later in the morning. If there is any error, or suggestion for improvement, please let me know.
Dear ……..
I am strongly in favor of the Cappeli amendment (AO5131) and the Stevenson amendment (AO5706) to amend “Castle Doctrine” to House Bill 1845 and urge your “Yes” vote on these amendments. I am OPPOSED to the Levdansky amendment (AO6178) and urge you to vote No on this.
Thank you,
The legislative info came from Sebastian’s site. Thank you, Sebastian, for this.
I use http://www.legis.state.pa.us/cfdocs/legis/home/find.cfm as a locator for addresses and phone numbers if it is of any help.

Re: Castle doctrine?
Let me add this: According to the last tally, we are 7,000 strong. If we all were to contact our reps. I am sure that they would take notice.

Re: Castle doctrine?
The more they hear from us the better. The Philadelphia media is pushing this issue hard in an attempt to get the few remaining votes they need to pass this turd. If we want a clean castle doctrine bill, it's very critical people get the word to their reps.

Re: Castle doctrine?
Excuse my ignorance, but what is the "lost and stolen" law?

Re: Castle doctrine?
A law forcing people to report lost or stolen firearms within a certain amount of time after discovery. Here's an overview of the bill passed in CT, which carries felony penalties. It's similar to the one proposed in Pennsylvania.

Does anyone have a link to the text of the castle doctrine bill before the legislature?

The server it's on is inaccessible currently. Gotta love government. If this passes, make sure you keep copies of those police reports.
