If you have written letters, send emails and made phone calls to your Reps and you still want to do more

You too can join the A-Team A= Activist

We are looking for team leaders and gun owners willing to get more involved and learn what it takes to protect your Freedoms & Rights in HBG.

IF there is enough interest we are going to hold a western and eastern team leadership training program before the May 8, 2011 events detail to follow soon.

Cleared this offer with Kim Stolfer, .

We are going to be there on Monday May 7th doing some pre lobbying before the May 8th main event and making sure there is NO problems with securing all of your handguns that fall into sections with capital police for anyone with a valid LTCF permit.

We are tentatively going to be there about 11 a.m. time frame, on May 7th. The event will last to at least 3 p.m. and maybe as late as 6pm. If you have to leave before that or you can’t be there that early or arrive late we will try to accommodate you the best we can using cell phones to coordinate.

We will meet up just outside the security check point where you check your firearms. It’s the South entrance at the rear of the Capitol Building by the big water fountain off Commonwealth Ave.

If you come in the main entrance (with all the steps) on North 3rd street, you can NOT check firearms here. If you don’t have a firearm you can come in that way and make your way through the building to Commonwealth Ave entrance.

There are several nearby parking garages convenient to the capitol building beginning with the glass one off of N 2nd street off of Locust St. by the river. Another parking garage is off the intersection of Forster St &N 7th street by railroad tracks. There are also all kinds of parking meters & other places to park around the capital complex.

What we also ask is that you dress in business casual attire with comfortable dress shoes as we will be walking all over the capital complex. The point is to make what we say and information we present the focus of what the Reps will remember not how we dress or looked. It is important to dress appropriately for these events so that we leave a positive impression. I am personally uncomfortable with ties and dress shoes, we all should do what is required for the larger goal. Always dress to impress and you can't go wrong.

This unique event is for everyone’s benefit, our success or failure rest on how important your rights are worth to you and your wanting to be directly involved in the political process to learn what it takes to keep & protect your rights for the future of our republic.

WHAT DOES FREEDOM MEAN TO YOU? & what are you willing to do to keep that precious freedom?

The mission of May 8th event is three parts

    1) rally phase - to listen invited guest speaker about the importance of protecting firearm rights.

    2) Interactive lobbying event - is to break up into smaller groups under a team leader guidance (looking at 20-25 teams for 253 reps) and directly express your feeling and views about firearm laws to ALL the elected Reps that we get a chance to catch in their offices between meetings or sessions..
See attachment for specific legislation we will be trying to move in HBG.

    3) Have a good time and learn how you can protect your rights by being involved in the process

Please read the attachment on pending legislative subjects in HBG

Anyone with a handgun and a valid LTCF permit we have and will make provisions to have them safely stored by the capital police in the PO Office sized lock boxes or down stairs. All handguns will be secured.

On this link is an editable PDF form to pre fill out your firearm information to expedite your check in time at security

    Title 18, section 913:

    (e) Facilities for checking firearms or other dangerous weapons.--Each county shall make available at or within the building containing a court facility by July 1, 2002, lockers or similar facilities at no charge or cost for the temporary checking of firearms by persons carrying firearms under section 6106(b) or 6109 or for the checking of other dangerous weapons that are not otherwise prohibited by law. Any individual checking a firearm, dangerous weapon or an item deemed to be a dangerous weapon at a court facility must be issued a receipt. Notice of the location of the facility shall be posted as required under subsection (d).

    Title 18, section 6106 (b)

    (11) Any person while carrying a firearm in any vehicle, which person possesses a valid and lawfully issued license for that firearm which has been issued under the laws of the United States or any other state.

    (15) Any person who possesses a valid and lawfully issued license or permit to carry a firearm which has been issued under the laws of another state, regardless of whether a reciprocity agreement exists between the Commonwealth and the state under section 6109(k), provided:

    (i) The state provides a reciprocal privilege for individuals licensed to carry firearms under section 6109.

(ii) The Attorney General has determined that the firearm laws of the state are similar to the firearm laws of this Commonwealth.

The section above is the area of law that is being used to deny people the ability to enter the Capitol building with firearms because of the PA Supreme Court hearing rooms upstairs. The section below is the one referenced in Section 913 and as you can see ‘carry’ is defined as those who have a valid and lawfully issued license. Perhaps it is not obvious but this does preclude LONG GUNS!

This Thread is a work in progress

The main page on PAFOA will be updated

with link directing everyone to this page

and the main rally information page

    http://www.2arally.com/
    .
Special note at the 6th event in May of 2011 several people refused to provide the additional id requested by the capital police (that is outside of the scope in the UFA requirements) and they were refused entry to the capital complex. If you have a problem with this extra requirement you now have several weeks prior to May 8, 2012 to contact the capital police to correct this to your satisfaction and / or contact your state Reps to address this problem or don’t go.

Out of respect please take that extra requirement discussion to another thread and work together to get it changed.

If you want to push the issue, there are many other days besides this dedicated lobbying day to make a political statement.

The police officers working the security detail have a very difficult job dealing with the general public are following the instructions and procedures from their superior officers on checking firearms.

Most the capital police officers are very supportive our efforts to improve and protect their firearm rights, so take your firearm check in problem to the ones that makes the rules or those that hold their leash, not the individual police officers working security

I'm curious, as I was unable to carry a firearm due to my age last year, seeing as the event is inside this year where will we be checking our firearms? I seem to recall last year that folks had to go around the building or something to check them?

I'd rather be prepared before hand knowing where I'll need to relinquish my rights than to find out when I get there.
