You don't have to register it...nor does she.
The easiest route would be your mom selling the rifle (and giving you the cash).
I do strongly suggest you do a bill of sale for a paper trail. Make sure the buyer signs his or her name legibly.
There's a very nice Bill of Sale form in the Firearms (for sale) forum. I've used it twice.

If you can legally buy and own a long gun yourself you can sell it to anyone else legally allowed to buy or own a long gun in PA. No registration is needed. Hand them the long gun and collect the cash. If you sell it to someone out of state you need to ship it to an FFL.

Someone please feel free to correct me if I'm giving incorrect information.

Not trying to sound to sneaky. But I for one don't want a bill of sale. If I purchased the firearm, I like the fact that there isn't a trail to my house in case the day comes for them to start collecting. "Well officer, how many guns does it say I owned?" I don't want a record showing that I purchased this firearm anywhere. We complain about registration, and then we create our own trail back to the firearm. Same thing isn't it. If you don't need to leave a trail why bother.

If you want a bill of sale. List it as a Misc. Item.

Yeah, don't forget us. Lots of us are AK fans. We would like a shoot at it. Just post it in the classifieds.
