Renewing Berks Co. CCW permit ?'s

I currently have a CCW in berks county that is about to expire in Feb. Does anyone know the process for renewal? I tried to go to Birdsboro a few weeks ago becuase they adverstise that they are there to issue permits once a month and when i got there a sign was on the door that said they will not return to birdsboro till march or april. I have also tried call the sheriffs office and cannot not get in touch with anyone there or even a phone call back when i have left numerous messages. I have also heard that the CCW permit is still good for 6 months even after it expires??? Any help would be greatly appreciated

You don't have a sheriff on duty, ever? And I guess I will be the corrector... IT IS A LICENSE TO CARRY FIREARMS.

Thanks for the correction. Everytime I call I get the automated service and it gives you the prompt for the firearms divison and it will go to the same guys voice mail everytime and of course he never returns calls.

Why not drive in to the courthouse during normal hours and have the license renewed? Your license expires on the expiration date however you should not be given a citation if you are stopped with an expired license, within 6 months of the expiration date.

Go into the courthouse. Fill out the form and pay the $25 fee. Licenses are issued on the spot.

My works hours are crazy and I work right outside of Philly so its really hard for me to make it to the courthouse during the week.

Try Colebrookdale Twp near Boyertown (off Rt 73). They have hours until 6 PM.

Walk in with paperwork and check, wait several minutes, walk out with a card.
