I'm a sucker for dogs that get a bad rap for doing their job...
Especially pit bull's, but stories like below really get my blood boiling.
If any of you have 5 or 10 min's to spare, please shoot an email or fax off to this judge to help save Congo the German Shep from being euth'd.
Full story is here (it's kind of lengthy)

Here's a snip
"He's innocent. He did nothing more than protect my wife. He never bit anyone until she was grabbed and pulled to the ground," James said.
James, who was about to take a shower, called out a window to them in Spanish, telling them to get back in their car and wait because the dogs were in the backyard being fed.
While the dogs, two 2 1/2-year-old German shepherds and their four 6-month-old puppies, had not had problems with people on the property before, James said in an interview that he didn't want them to interfere with the workers. Also, he wanted the workers to wait until he was dressed so that he could tell them what to do, he said.
Instead, Rivera and another worker got out of the car after a few minutes and the dogs began to bark. That worker began to hit the dogs with a metal rake and Elizabeth James, Guy James' wife, yelled for him to stop. Meanwhile, Rivera, who was afraid of the dogs, grabbed her from behind and pulled her to the ground, causing her to scream. At that point Congo began to bite and scratch Rivera and some of the puppies joined in.

That is messed up. Guy should have shot riverra for attacking his wife with the rake and that could have been the end of it..
His insurance should not have paid a single cent to rivera.

My thoughts too....the guy warned Rivera in spanish none the less not to get out of his car.....IMO Rivera brought the attack on himself, it's not the dogs fault.

Plus they were an hour early!!!
I promise that is someone showed up on my property my dog is going to show them attention. If they swing a rake at them, and hit them, they are going to get attacked..
Lets be real here, if this was a person you would get the same response.
I hate the law!!

Why did he get 250k for being a dumbass? You beat a dog with a rake, then grab the dog's owner and make her scream. This, all on top of the house owner's instructions to stay in their car. The guy didn't deserve a single penny, and the dog should be seen as a hero, not be put to death! I HATE people with no common sense and expect to get compensation for it. That includes judges who give the compensation.

I have a German Shepherd, he's my avitar............Need I say more.
Letter sent with c/c to everyone I know and then some.
I sent copies to some very prominent people in the German Shepherd world as well as the dog world.
I also sent c/c to my dog food friends and believe me they will be on this immediately. They are very canine connected.
Thanks for the thread!

What a freaking load of crap! That judge, and some of the folks making posts on that papers site, obviously have never been around dogs and have no clue that if someone is attacking one of the pack leaders the rest of the pack will attack to save their leader. IDIOTS! Of course what would you expect in the PRNJ with all of their mommy state laws that have ensured that people can't protect themselves and that criminals have more rights than anyone else.

We can only hope for the appeal.
Maybe until then more and more voices will be heard in Congo's defense. Especially children.
Most judges like politicians are media whores. When they bullshit, the good people usually react.
Then theres getting re-elected. Being an animal murderer usually doesn't get many positive votes.
Hopefully this judge will see that his career is on the line.
I believe there are more good people on this planet than bad.
I hope Congo goes on to live a long an happy life with his loving family.
