    Default concealed carry durring archery?

Ok so I've read that you can't carry a semi while hunting with a LTC, but you can carry a revolver. Does this include archery season? I know centerfire revolvers are permitted for hunting but I'm sure the PAGC might hastle an archer with a revolver. Is it legal? Thanks for the replies in advance.

IANAL nor a WCO, I carry a semi auto pistol when I hunt. AFAIK, there are no laws that specifically state you can not carry a semi auto pistol. It is only illegal to dispatch game with a semi auto pistol not to carry it.

The LTCF allows you to carry your pistol anywhere that is not prohibited by law. I don't recall reading anywhere in the statutes that states you MUST carry a revolver when archery hunting.

Where did you read that? There was a restriction about 5 to 8 years ago. As long as you have a LTCF you can carry while hunting, spotting,,,ect... The only restriction is that if your going to use it to hunt it has to be a revolver or singleshot. So there wouldnt be a hassle because there is no law broken.

http://forum.pafoa.org/concealed-car...cf-page-3.html . I read it in this post. I originally thought the same thing. Wouldn't a semi be less likely to be used for illegal shooting? It would make more sense... semi for protection... revolver for poaching

I carry everytime i step into the woods. I had a really bad experience during archery last year with a two legged critter. So now i do it without even giving it a second thought. I'm pretty sure you got bad info. You can't hunt with semi auto, but as far as i know you can carry whatever you want if you have a carry permit.

It used to be that you couldn't carry a semi auto while hunting. It was changed a few years ago that a LTCF holder could carry their personal protection while hunting. You can't use it for anything hunting related unless it is a revolver or single shot center fire.

Since 2007 you are permitted to carry a handgun (semi or revolver) that would otherwise not belegal to take game with during that season provided:
    a) you have an LTCF
    ~and~
    b) the sidearm is only carried and used for self defense.

A LTCF authorizes only "firearms" as defined by SS6102 of the UFA.

I quote the definition below. Essentially it includes handguns, short barreled rifles short barreled shotguns and some AOW's

Two legged being another hunter that helped himself to my treestand, and then got an attitude about it. Proceeded to threaten me with a loaded crossbow in his hand. Not a good situation for either of us.I thought it was gonna get real ugly, but thank god it didn't. A perfect example of how you never know when or where bad shit might happen,so go prepared.
