Where to shoot bb gun
Well my son just turned 6 and I thought about getting him a bb gun or pellet gun. Problem is that I am now living in an apartment and not sure where to take him. I thought about taking him out to Evansburg State Park and just trying to find a quiet spot to shoot a few cans or targets...but wondered about getting any flack if a ranger happened upon us.
How about any of the state game lands...I believe there is one out near Limerick? I live in West Norriton.
Thoughts/advice appreciated.

I was going to say your backyard but not if you live in an apartment nevermind lol You could take him to State Game Lands and shoot. Shooting in a State PARK I would HIGHLY recommend not doing. I practice on game lands with my AR. To be safe if you decide to go that route wear bright colors. Hope you find something so he can go out and enjoy it!

Re: Where to shoot bb gun
I wouldn't recommend that. Perhaps you'd get away with it by a ranger who says "oh it's just a BB gun". But more likely you'd be fined by a ranger.
058 Pa Code § 135.41. State game lands.
(c) Additional prohibitions. In addition to the prohibitions contained in the act pertaining to State game lands and § 135.2, except with the written permission of the Director, it is unlawful to:
(15) Target shoot with firearms, bows and arrows or devices capable of launching projectiles in a manner that could cause injury to persons or property, or on areas posted closed to those activities.
The State Game Lands have designated target ranges. However they don't have close enough backstops for BB guns.
Try posting in the Classifieds/Everything Else section here on PAFOA. Wanted: Somewhere to teach my 6yro to shoot BB gun. I'm sure in exchange for a 6-Pack many members would let you use their back yard or a piece of land they have (I would if I did). Can't hurt to ask.The right to bear arms isn't for hunting bear. You might want to consider this (unless licensed and in-season of course):
§ 2301. Prima facie evidence of hunting.
(a) General rule.--For the purpose of this title, any one of
the following acts shall constitute prima facie evidence of
hunting:
(1) Possession of any firearm, bow and arrow, raptor,
trap or other device of any description usable for the
purpose of hunting or taking game or wildlife.

Delaware County Field & Stream has an air gun range (at the top of the hill). Thursday nights there are a bunch of "air gunners" there that would welcome you. They will help you in any way they can. Swing by and say hello....
George,
So many guns, so little money.

You could get a pellet trap. I don't know that I would use it in an apartment. Maybe a basement.

Re: Where to shoot bb gun
When I lived in an apartment (age 3 - 13), I made my own pellet trap from a ~18" deep cardboard box filled with crumpled news paper. I put a scrap of carpet in the back of the box just in case. No pellet ever escaped the back of my trap. I wasn't allowed to pump more than 3 times on the air rifle inside.
