Default Best Make of Heat Shield

Any recommendations of which heat shield to go with for my shotgun. I have been told not to bother with the one with the Ghost Sights built into it.

But, are there any out there that I should avoid? Are there any that your very pleased with? Let me know. I want to get a heat shield ordered so the shotgun will be all tacticool the way that I want it to be.

Looking for one for a Winchester 1200

I'll second forgeting the one with the ghost sites built in, a real piece of junk. The Mossberg factory shields are good quality, but I have no idea if they will fit your Winchester.

I too would avoid the heat shield unless it was a factory installed item.

Tactical gloves work better than any heat shield. I can run my 1100 hard with gloves and never have a problem.

I agree with everyone's assessment that they are not worth the trouble. You can't carry enough SG ammo nor would you shoot enough if you did for a heat shield to make a difference.

Save you cash for more shells..

I cant remember the last time, if ever, that I was able to warm up a shotgun barrel to the point I couldn't touch it. Its not like you're gonna be pumping out 600rds per minute - and if you could, I'd buy ya the heat shield.
