Default Going on Vacation, Where Can I Store My Firearms?

Hypothetical question as of right now. The girlfriend and I are planning on going to greece for several weeks later this year. I do not believe the chances of someone breaking into the apartment are very high, however, I would feel safer if my firearms were stored in a house with people living in it, whom we trust. Such as either of our parents homes. Does anyone know the legality of this or what would the best way of going about securely storing our firearms? Thanks all.

Leave 'em with someone you trust (both in the personal sense and with firearms)...Preferably if they have a gun cabinet and stuff...Thats what I did for most of the summer.

Do not leave handguns with someone who does not have a LTCF.

I'll be happy to store them for you. I'll make sure they get plenty of play time too. I'd even make sure they're cleaned up after playing.

EDIT:: Greece ehh? I heard they don't take kindly to Americans there. How good is your British accent?

Unless they happen to be your Father, Grandfather, son/daughter, or grandson/granddaughter. In that case, you could give a handgun to your father. As long as he is willing to give it back to you when you return.

At the same time, I wouldn't leave any firearms with anybody who does not have a proper way to secure them.

Every bank I've ever had a SDB at has always had a policy that you can't store firearms in it.

I do know of someone who got special dispensation once though as they needed to store a KelTec P32 for a few months while their son was on probation - but they knew the manager at that branch really well...

You can leave them with anybody you trust and is allowed to possess firearms. I also would satisfy myself that no one prohibited is staying at the residence. This includes handguns but not NFA firearms. PA law allows “lending” of handguns.

Hmmm OK. I knew a guy who SAID he had several commemorative revolvers stored in a bank SDB for years while waiting to sell them. So, I dunno.

I suppose when you go to the private area to open your box, you could put anything in and no one would really know???

Oh well, just a thought for the OP. I guess he could check with a bank if thinks he wants to try it that way.

I have a great storage space. It is under my bed Stop by and leave'em with me. I am right off exit 309 and no one will touch them until you return. Or just put them in your parent's attic

Don't some gun stores offer a storage service? It'd understandable cost money, but then they would be secured AND insured...

That'd be something to look into.
