5250.00
thats one of many reasons why i OC... when i had that much CASH on me the other day, having a 1911 in plain view made the gang bangers at wally world thing again. tey became VERY interested when they say me pull a nice fat wad of 100.00's out and pay for my purchase. as i walked away they became very uninterested and i could hear them verbally state so...
i was on my way to the bank, but needed a few things first, so i dont need to hear any grief about that. This Space For Rent

Re: 5250.00
I'll jump on the band wagon and say yeah really. whenever i carry larger sums of money, i always keep it in separate pockets. One pocket has the ones, fives and tens and the other pocket holds the larger bills. Why pull out a wad of $100's. you are just asking for trouble.
But hey who am i to judge---i just don't think flashing wads of $100 bills is a smart idea. Don't believe for one minute that a large "gang" cant overpower you just because you have a firearm---carrying a firearm does not make you superman.
But, i'm glad it all worked out for you.

Re: 5250.00
I never carry or pay for anything with cash. So I can't relate... But I agree with above. Having a gun isn't going to stop a criminal determined to get your loot. They can easily get the "jump" on you and crack you on the head. They'll have your cash and a nice piece too!

What do you buy at Wal-mart that's worth $5k? That must've been a lot of ammo!

Re: 5250.00
One of my customers used to carry lots of cash and he did house rehab work in Baltimore city. I guess the cash was to pay the subcontractors, but he may have said he had rentals there too, and the money was from his rental payments he collected. But he tried to get a MD carry lisc- they wouldn't give him one! I know what it was too, some sort of stupid pissing contest between the city and the SP. I read something about this political crap at MDshooters a while back.
LOL, I am a woman...

Re: 5250.00
dont get me wrong folks, i WANTED to go to the bank, but when Aunt FLOW comes to visit the GF, you HAVE to do what you HAVE to do... and it HAS to be done 5 min ago...
you ar ecorrect in saying that if it were a large group of people, then it wouldnt have mattered. it would have just been a bit more of a taunt.
gang bangers... boyswith thier pants around thier knees and hat on side ways... more money invested in clothes than they have in a vehicle, and love ebonics. theese ones happened to be mostly white. either way they were all idiots, and i honestly doubt i would have needed a firearm at all.
like i said, the bank was the next stop... ;-)This Space For Rent

Re: 5250.00
I grew up in projects on PGH's north side. Not bad by Philly standards, but you def can get your ass robbed and murdered over a bus pass over there.
When carrying large amounts of cash you should always have it in two places. Carry most in a front pocket or secure location, the stuff you need to pull out should not be much. So no one can see what you got. Also, if someone tried to rob you you just toss them the small stash and they run.
It is also advisable to carry two wallets when in bad areas. I would suggest DL/LTCF/MAC/CC and large bills in a front pocket wallet and some small bills and unimportant stuff in the back.
