    Default Six Days in Fallujah

Anybody hear about this game? It's causing some controversy with military families.

Anybody thinking about buying it when it comes out? I might (if I have a 360 by then)

Yeah, and every time I play BF1942 I am sullying the memory of all those brave soldiers and marines... when are people going to just STFU? Now I am buying it even though I don't have a 360....

Seems like you're typical war-based 1st person shooter.

I think the main complaint is that it's so 'new' on the minds of people, and not enough time has gone by to make this just some meaningless event that took place a long time ago by people who are long dead. I'm sure some are concerned you'll end up with a kid playing their dad and maybe freaking the dad out a bit (or the dad is buying and playing the game himself and has a flashback).

Still, I don't see the insult to american or UK troops in any way. I think a lot of the complaining about being insensitive to the troops might be the outword expression of true inword concern of "Oh noes...don't upset the muslims or they'll get you" nonsense that was hinted at in the article.

Sounds like something I'd get for myself to play, but not something I'd buy for my former marine nephew who was actually over there at this time and claims to have been involved in this actual event. Whether that is true or not remains to be seen, but he has seen combat and has the scars (phyiscal & emotional) to prove it. *probably* not a good idea for him to play this particular game, as it would be worse for him (emotionally speaking) than say Medal of Honor or Call of Duty.

Well if that's what you want to do I won't try to stop you. I will however make mention that there is a certain somebody (ME) who does have a 360 that would put it to good use.

I am sure to the detached, it will be a "fun" game. For me, nothing I did in Iraq or the memories of them can ever be a game.
