[PAFOA Blog] Important Castle Doctrine Vote Monday 9/27!
Important Castle Doctrine Vote Monday 9/27!
Over the past year gun owners in Pennsylvania have made great strides in getting Castle Doctrine (H.B.40), past all the anti-gun roadblocks placed in our way, and believe me, they’ve tried every trick in the book. On Monday, September 27, there will be a pivotal vote on a discharge petition, which would put a stop to all the dirty tricks from anti-gun politicians, and get us one step closer to an actual vote on the House floor. The Castle Doctrine bill that has wide bi-partisan support, and should easily pass if we can get this discharge petition moving H.B.40 forward.
Because of this we need you to contact your state representative and politely let them know you expect them to support the discharge petition and floor vote for H.B.40. If you are not sure who your state representative is you can find out using PAFOA’s Politician Search.
Your action on this matter is urgently necessary for us to pass these much needed reforms. Reforms that would protect law-abiding gun owners, like yourself, from prosecution and lawsuits should you ever be forced to defend yourself inside, or outside of your home.
Thank you,
Daniel Pehrson

Re: [PAFOA Blog] Important Castle Doctrine Vote Monday 9/27!
I spoke in person with Rep. Tim Hennessey on Saturday when he was handing out "vote for me" fliers. I told him that the only way I'd vote for him is if he votes "YES" to DR-10, and HB-40. EDIT:: (I was a bit more tactful than what my typing sounds like. Just being brief to save on typing a novel.)
The one thing that could hold this all up is if they decide to make today (Monday) a "NON" voting day!!!! Which is what Mr. Hennessey told me is possible.Last edited by 64Jeeper; September 27th, 2010 at 07:54 AM.

HB 40 is being moved OUT of Appropriations, and should come to a vote on Monday. Then off to the Senate.

Anyone hear anything on this? I must be in the dark. I just called fox news and they said it passed, but I can't find anything on it.
Thanks

Here is over 200 pages of posts on the subject. This is where you can follow along, but are encouraged to get involved, and contact your House Reps, and Senate Reps, and tell them to vote "YES".

Anybody else receive THIS today?
Attention Pennsylvania Gun Owners:
Your State Representative Must Hear from You Immediately!
Please Contact Your State Representative Today!
Your NRA-ILA has learned that anti-gun forces are plotting to attach a plethora of anti-gun amendments to House Bill 40 when the Pennsylvania House of Representatives returns to session Monday, October 4.
Such amendments include: a ban on semi-automatic rifles; “one-gun-a-month” purchasing restrictions; a prohibition on the use of out of state Right-to-Carry permits by Pennsylvania residents while inside the Commonwealth; mandatory reporting of lost or stolen firearms; mandatory storage of firearms within the home; and increased regulations of firearm ownership in Philadelphia. Two other amendments to this anti-freedom laundry list are currently pending.
