Common Question on CC
New member and recently discharged Army soldier with a few questions about his rights.
Iam sure it has been asked 100000 times on here but iam just curious on something.
I looked over some of the threads and wondered if the OC pamphlet in the main sticky also applies to CC
Upon returning hometo PA in Nov of 08 obtained my first CC permit, and want to carry my Ruger P95 9mm around while shopping, fishing, etc.
I have heard so many rumors about CC.. like you cant carry at wal-mart... blah blah blah
I know its B.S. but I wanted to carry something to show stupid ppl who claim to know the laws, exactly how WRONG they are.
Iam not as concerned about where I cant carry as I am about my rights as a CC citizen.
If the Gun Rights pamphlet is all i need and applies then great. thats what iam concerned about, if there is a seperate gun rights for CC please link it for me and I would greatly appreciate it.
Thanks in advance and Iam proud to be a member.

Re: Common Question on CC
You can CC anywhere you can OC.
The few exceptions being, Nat'l parks(CC only), State parks ( still up in the air about OC)

Re: Common Question on CC
The pamphlet is a handy tool for CC as well. The same off-limits places apply except Fed/State parks. Private property owners can forbid carrying in any manner, or they can say "concealed only", or not even care at all. If there is a sign, keep it concealed and no one will be the wiser. A sign can set a conditional permission to be on the property, and therefor serve as a first notice for trespassing.

Re: Common Question on CC
Once you get your LTCF you can carry pretty much anywhere in the state except for places like the Post Office, courthouses, Federal buildings and schools. All because of Federal Laws. Your LTCF also allows you to carry while in a car.
And yes, the pamphlet that was written up for open carry applies to concealed carry as well. Any place you can openly carry you can carry concealed as long as you has the LTCF.
Being an out of state member I got my license through the mail from centre county. Very pro gun friendly sheriff or at least someone that understands the laws.

Re: Common Question on CC
As others have noted, OC/CC makes no difference in terms of where, with a couple exceptions that are noted in the off limits list. Also the pamphlet is applicable to both CC and OC. Even has a section on CC specifically.

Re: Common Question on CC
Welcome soldier and thanks for serving our country.
Today, we need a nation of Minutemen, citizens who are not only prepared to take arms, but citizens who regard the preservation of freedom as the basic purpose of their daily life and who are willing to consciously work and sacrifice for that freedom.JFK
