Re: Texas castle doctrine stories
He's the guy who killed a couple illegals who were robbing his neighbor, right? From what I hear so far, it's not exactly a righteous shooting. Horn wasn't in danger until he placed himself in danger by confronting the crooks. Iffy at best. Be interesting to see how the court sees it.
Were it me, I woulda stepped out with the shotty in one hand and a video recorder in the other. They get aggressive, it's on tape. If not, the tape is evidence to give the cops. All IMHO, of course.

Re: Texas castle doctrine stories
It was interesting to hear him on the phone with 911. They keep telling him to stay inside, he keeps telling them he wants to go kill them. It seems like in his mind, the burglars were coming to his house next and he wanted to get out after them with his shotgun. Now the "fiance" of one of the illegals, is showing up on tv all teary eyed, saying how he killed two innocent men for no reason. IMHO, you rob a house in Texas, you better expect to get shot. As cruel as it may sound, I think a few more of these incidents happen and the crime rate goes through the floor. Funny how when the exact opposite of what the liberal gun grabbers have been pushing for for years happens, the streets suddenly get safer for the citizens instead of the criminals.

I f'n hate thieves. They steal what your worked hard for. Fuck 'em. I'm glad that guy shot them. They're low lives stealing other peoples hard earned belongings so they can get easy money. They're worthless in society. I wish PA had laws like Texas. Texas is the shit,

Re: Texas castle doctrine stories
From what I can remember I think his chances are fair. Texas law gives neighbors the right to defend each others property, or something to that effect. It's hard to feel sorry for thieves.

Re: Texas castle doctrine stories
A lot of the media has been skipping one of the key points, I believe texas law allows for the use of deadly force to prevent someone from fleeing after commiting a burglary. Just as our supreme court has upheld the use of deadly force to prevent someone from fleeing after commiting certain felonies.
Self defense isn't the best case for a defense.

Re: Texas castle doctrine stories
Lol, criminals in Texas know that if you're stealing stuff from someone else, you CAN be legally shot. Thieves do so at their own risk. Texas law authorizes the use of lethal force to protect people and property, it even allows the use of lethal force to protect third person's property. I know alot of people wouldn't agree with that or don't think that's right, but here in Texas, it's legal. Myself and my fellow Texans don't care if others think it's wrong or whatever else, the man won't have a charge pressed against him. Another nice thing about Texas is that if you're found innocent in a criminal court, you CANNOT be sued by the family in civil court. So if it's a legal shoot, you're in the clear.

I want to marry Texas.......
I found it also interesting, that the civil rights activists were marching and were met by just as vocal demonstrators supporting Mr. Horn.

Re: Texas castle doctrine stories
My only problem is Mr. Horn was told by the 911 dispatcher to stay in the house six Time the police were on their way. In addition he shot them in the back. To me that's not a justifiable shooting. Should have shoot in the ground and I'd bet the BG would have stopped. If he even had to shoot.

Re: Texas castle doctrine stories
I'd like to, check that, love to see the Castle Doctrine passed in PA. I'm tired of the law protecting farking criminals, dead or wounded.
