The problem is that they can do anything they want and we have to pay and fight to get it corrected and they suffer no penalties for their transgressions.

Yeah, apparently its standard protocol if your firearm is lost or stolen, at least that's what I'm told. They say it is to prevent straw purchasing, which doesn't really make any sense to me. Wouldn't they want to restrict my ability to purchase in that case? Carry has nothing to do with it.
Has anyone else had this happen to them? Did you eventually get your license back? Did it stop you from purchasing?
