Have you wandered into the Douglassville Hotel yet? Good place for a burger and a beer, but steak night is even better.

Yes a guy in a cape swinging a belt. Then some guy chased after him and fired a warning shot. Then some Super Duper Constable swooped in and arrested all three of them. But the Police have yet to file any charges. Like I said the DOHO can get kinda rough. IIRC the Readin paper had an artical about it.

AMITY >> Amity police are investigating a bizarre incident involving several bar patrons, including a man dressed in a cape and Batman T-shirt.

Police were called to the first block of Old Swede Road near the Douglassville Hotel at around 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday. A witness told police that a 30-year-old man had assaulted another customer. The witness described the man as a stocky white male about 5 feet 10 inches tall wearing a Batman shirt and cape. After an altercation outside the bar, the man wearing the Batman outfit ran into nearby woods, chased by two other men, according to Amity Police Chief Andrew Kensey.

A shot was fired in the direction of the man in the Batman outfit but no one was injured, according to police.

Douglass Township Constable Joshua Stouch was travelling on Route 422 near Fisher Chiropractic in route to a requested transport when he heard the gunshot and stopped to investigate. Stouch was approached by witnesses who advised him two men were chasing another man in a wooded area behind the bar. Stouch checked the area and saw two men walk out of the woods. The men identified themselves and a handgun was located on one of the men. Both men were placed in handcuffs and detained until police could arrive, according to a Facebook post by the Douglass Township Constable Office.

The victim was located by Amity Township Police after he emerged from the woods. He was treated for injuries at the scene but refused to go to the hospital, according to police.

All three men were transferred to the custody of Amity Township Police for investigation, and charges are pending following the result of the investigation.

Amity Township Police, Douglass (Berks) Police Department and Exeter Township Police responded to the incident.
