Default Asked to leave Burger King, Erie PA

It finally happened, after aprox. 15 years of CC/OC I was asked to leave a business, BK in Erie. I have been going there for a few years now. Meet some folks for mid morning coffee(mines a diet coke) and snack. Have known manager for a couple years now. I have OC'd here many a time with no problem from her. Well this morning she states loudly that gun's are not allowed in her store. I was at counter ordering, I set the newspaper young lady had give me down and leave. I park towards the rear of lot, she comes running out the back door asking why I was leaving. Tell her that I would be breaking the law if I had stayed. Inform her about OC/CC. She tells me that she was only joking and no problem with a gun in plain site and that I could return. I have OC/CC in Erie business's for a while and this is the first negitive encounter I have had. Just had to share. Thanks for all the advice and support this forum gives, wish I had found this site sooner.

I wonder if she was really joking to begin with, or just changed her mind when she saw you leave...

Well either she thought she knew you well enough to crack a joke or you actually persuaded her to change her mind at the potential loss of a customer. Way to go! I think... lol

Not sure if I understand. Why would she change her mind, when she says no guns did she expect you to stay I would thing she expected you to leave. Sounds like she was joking with you, how is that negative.

she wouldn't have said no guns and expected you to stay if she wasn't somehow joking, so how is this negative since she came chasing after u to say its ok? sounds to me she needs to work on her jokes, not firearms policy. this type of story is like crying wolf and takes away from people who have legit issues like pa patriot.

    Ain't that almighty anymore.

Even if she was joking, it's not something she should joke about. Seems like maybe she was... I'd ask her if she was or not. One of the BK's here is right next to the indoor range so I usually stop in there for a bite to eat on occasion while OC'ing. I would have done the same thing if it were me.

Not being there, I can only go on the feeling I get, and that says maybe she heard about all the recent nonsense and was joking. If she was serious she wouldn't have chased you. If she was joking, she went,"Oh my God, he thought I was serious!", and chased you. Sounds fairly easy to me....
