Default possible proposition for gun free zones

it seems obvious to most of us that gun free zones only apply to those who follow the rules. What if in order to have a gun free zone, besides ones residence, they were required to have a metal detector and security guard or someone watching over it.

    Opinions? good, bad, crazy, genius?

This would cost business extra money, however if they would claim it was a gun free zone they would at least have some backing. On the other hand, what i would prefer is they would realize it was smarter to just allow CC/OC realizing that bad guys wouldn't obey the law anyway.

How about in order to post your property "no trespassing" you had to hire a security guard to watch it all day?

That would be somewhat worse... You see, someone could easily knock off your guard with a gun then shoot everyone.

perhaps some kind of alarm they would have to deactivate in a certain amount of time. but it also supports the idea that there shouldn't be "gun free" zones

An alarm to who? The dead security guard? I think the unarmed victims will have a good idea what is coming without an alarm.

Maybe you can add a "lock-down" to your plan? Just to be certain nobody lives?

Have you read about Fort Hood yet? This is what you are describing... Gun free zone, only armed person is at the gate... Alarms are useless.

If God didn't intend us to have guns why would he have given us a trigger finger?

Would it be possible for people to actually post threads in the forums they belong in? This belongs in the laws and politics section or the lounge...

to clarify for everyone i don't support having gun free zones, but i would think it would be better if it was more of a hassle for places to do this.

My point is that even with these provisions its not possible for this to work, but rather then just having a no gun sign or policy they should be required have some method in place or accept people carrying.
