Re: sig 226 9mm?
if you want to know if it german made, flip it upside down, and at the end of the barrel underneath it, are german proof marks and a date code.
as fas as the slide, it should be stamped with MADE IN W.GERMANY.Guns don't kill people, it's mostly the bullets.

I've seen them for $799 NIB. $550 sounds ok. What are you currently "saving" for? If you have been saving for a 226, then I would grab it up, it's a great gun. If you are going to regret the purchase because you are saving for something else, I would pass.

I really was not saving for anything, just was saying it as I was not lookin to buy and saving for a rainy day as they say, but the price is well worth me takin a look at and it's hard to let pass if it's in great shape and looks to have low round count. Just was lookin for some opinions of others.

Re: sig 226 9mm?
My Sig P226 was my first semi-auto. I LOVE this pistol. In the 18 years that I have owned it, I have had zero, 0 issues with it including roll-your-own lead round nose and all type of commercial.
I would snap that up in a heartbeat if it is in good condition.

Re: sig 226 9mm?
$550 doesn't sound like a bad price for a 226 in good condition. They run about $750 new. I have a 220, which has the same ergonomics & I love it. My next handgun purchase will likely be a 226 in 9mm.

Re: sig 226 9mm?
I love my p226! I picked it up in Nov of 2007 used at a Gander Mtn for a little over 400 plus tax and other stuff. It is used and shows some wear, I would definatly pay 550 for a very good to excellent condition one right now, especially if it had more than one mag. Here's my baby, she's much quieter than most 226's though!

If it's one of those German police trade in models the price seems a little too high. It's probably still worth it though. Very nice guns.
