Default 3 Mile Island radiation issue

    http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,576215,00.html

MIDDLETOWN, Pa. — A small amount of radiation has been detected in a reactor building at the Three Mile Island nuclear power plant in central Pennsylvania.

About 150 employees were sent home after the radiation was detected Saturday afternoon, but officials say there is no public health risk.

Exelon Nuclear spokeswoman Beth Archer says investigators are searching for the cause, but that the radiation was quickly contained.

Radiological surveys showed the contamination was confined to surfaces inside the containment building.

The unit has been shut down for refueling and maintenance since Oct. 26. The company hopes to resume activities Sunday.

Officials are checking employees who had been working in the building for possible unusual radiation exposure.

The first vehicles normally on the scene of a crime are ambulances and police cruisers. If you are armed you have a chance to decide who gets transported in which vehicle, if you are not armed then that decision is made for you.

Be prepared, because someone else already is and no one knows their intent except them.

I wonder how severe the levels were. I would imagine that just about any unexpected radiation level rise would cause an immediate investigation.

"The radiation was quickly contained" heh, what did they do, shut a door?

Maybe I'm sick and twisted, but when I heard this on the news last night the first thing I thought was "Hmm, maybe it's a government coverup and Z-Day is upon us..."

But then I woke up this morning and civilization appears intact... Maybe next time lol

I'l be the first to be zombified by the leaking radiation. I am just within the danger zone for the area. I am starting to get the sudden urge for brains.

I am happy that I live in Middletown because if/when the reactor goes, I will be dead before I know what is happening...

Good thing they got to it quickly. It turned a potential Chernobyl into a mere Three Mile Island.
