Thinking of an integrally suppressed 10/22
I am thinking about getting an integrally suppressed 10/22. I have been kicking around the idea of a suppressor for quite some time and think this looks like the best option. I think i would get the most miles out of it opposed to one for an AR in 223 and possibly using it on a 22 upper on the same receiver that has the tax stamp paid on it. I have found a few companies of varying price ranges and wondered if anyone has one or has purchased from one of the listed companies:

Any input would be appreciated even if you think im an asshat for buying this when i should buy another suppressed option

Re: Thinking of an integrally suppressed 10/22
Since you asked, i'll give you my .02. I would just buy a .22 can and not an integrally suppressed rifle. When you have the can, you can use it on many other guns. I own 2 .22 cans and they get shuffled between my dedicated .22 ar upper---my 10/22's and my .22 pistols.
I think a can gives you a great deal more flexibility. oh, and they are darn quiet.

I thought the can had to be registered to one gun. I must be thinking of an SBR. Damn now the complicates things more. What do you think of a 223 can and using it on 22s

No, you can use the can on any gun.
Even sbr's can have multiple sbr uppers---just dont have a non sbr lower with sbr uppers.
As for .223 cans being used on a .22---here is my opinion. I wouldn't do it. The reason for me is that a .223 can weighs like 20+oz and a .22 can weighs maybe 3oz. Plus, the .22 can is about 5" long and the .223 can is about 7". That extra weight anf length will suck on a pistol and will really weigh down a 10/22. Plus, .22 is dirty with all the lead and they claim it can clog up a .223 can.Last edited by Guns4Fun; April 16th, 2009 at 10:41 PM.

Re: Thinking of an integrally suppressed 10/22
I, much like Guns4fun prefer to have a dedicated 22lr suppressor instead of an intergeral. Simply put, it's FAR more versatile, I can use it on a ruger MKII, Marlin 25n, 22lr SBR, and many other items.
G4F is also dead on in reguards to using a 223 suppressor for 22LR, depending on how often you shoot it and weather the can is sealed or not you might run into other problems.
