Re: What is your self defense ammo?
I just found (and ordered) the Federal 9mm +p+ 115 JHP (9BPL). This is an older round for the 9mm, but it seems to have proven itself on the streets, so to speak. I remember Mas Ayoob recommends this round by specific part number, as a 9mm round where 'you just don't find cases where a violent assailant had to be shot 10 or 12 times before he was incapacitated'.

Re: What is your self defense ammo?
Hornady Critical Defense in the 43 and 19. From what I understand the Critical Duty is recommended for longer barrels, if I carried a 17 that would be my choice.
I also use Critical Defense in my LCP, which quite frankly is the pistol I carry most often in the summer. It is difficult to free fools from the chains they revere. Voltaire

Re: What is your self defense ammo?
I don't really know what I carry anymore..... Not sure that I care that much. I buy quality, brand name defensive ammo...... load it and forget it.
I like to think that practice hitting my target is worth way more of my time and way more effective than anything else. Maybe it's a "getting old" thing. I no longer research the absolute best night sights....... don't like them. I don't rotate my carry ammo....... shot 25 year old HP's and they all went bang. Don't care about the caliber much.... Started with 357Sig because it's the top performer..... Carry a 45 Sig 1911 now because it's pretty.
I stopped weighing guns to find the one that is a few ounces less. I stopped adding cheap aftermarket gadgets to my guns because they have historically caused more problems that they are worth. I recently stopped reloading because it cost about the same as factory ammo in many cases.
I don't even spend hours pontificating about factors that make mathematically insignificant differences.
I GO SHOOTING INSTEAD!!!!!!!!!!!!
God Bless America!
Holy Shit where's the Tylynol???????
